As a marketing business that is constantly thinking about strategy for ourselves and our Clients, this movement really made sense to get behind. The principles are clear: do business thoughtfully and treat customers with the same care you would give your own friends and family.
Creators of the Thoughtful Marketing Movement, Bloom & Wild, came up with this idea in March 2019 and has since grown the community to over 170 businesses worldwide. The Thoughtful Marketing Movement gives customers and subscribers the chance to opt-out of emails directly targeting sensitive occasions (like Valentine's Day or Mother's Day). The initial response from Bloom & Wild's customers and the wider community was unexpectedly huge. It even got mentioned in a Parliamentary debate. Bloom & Wild instantly saw the enormous potential to make a positive impact by spreading the principles of opt-out more widely.
The Thoughtful Marketing Movement aims to change the culture around brand communications and improve the customer experience across the industry. The movement is now a community of over 170 businesses (and growing!). From newsletters and advice to Q&As with marketers in the community, opinion pieces, live panels, and how-to guides, the movement is a space for marketers to discuss, inspire, educate, and help each other find ways to be more thoughtful together.
Fifteen Marketing is thrilled to be a part of such a smart, thoughtful group of businesses and marketers and looks forward to sharing our own take soon! If you're interested in learning more about the movement or how to implement this into your current marketing efforts, please contact us and we'll be happy to give you helpful ideas.
